Thanks to my buddy EJ (Music editor for the News Tribune), I was able to check out AC/DC in their first Tacoma appearance in 7 years. Promoting their newest release “Black Ice”.
The show was everything you would expect, and I was fortunate to have a real birds eye view of the event. I got to sit in the press box for the whole show. The tickets they gave us were in the eighth row – but the way the stage was set up – I was better off in the box. They played all of the songs I went to hear and kept the new songs (ie songs I didn’t know) to a minimum. Opening act “The Answer” just plain old sucked. They looked like a parody of a rock band with cliche moves and manufactured excitement as well as the worst sound I have ever heard at a concert.
